...what do people eat for 'tea'?! I'm thinking cheese, crackers etc but any other ideas?

Cold meats and pickles here

shoppingbagsundereyes · 20/12/2012 19:37

We are having cheese and biscuits and home cooked ham. Kids are having what dd describes as a 'chocolate mountain' (fountain). She's been looking forward to it for months

Goober · 20/12/2012 19:40

Baileys and pringles.

AbandonHopeAllYe · 20/12/2012 19:42

more booze, and then anything we can assemble from the fridge while jarred.

MonsterBookOfTinsel · 20/12/2012 19:44

Left over roasties tbh.
Oh and Baileys Xmas Grin

arghhelpme · 20/12/2012 19:44

We normally have a little buffet.
Smoked salmon, cold meats, pickles, pringles, dips, cheese, salad, potato salad and part baked rolls.
Sometimes some party type food.

Lulabellarama · 20/12/2012 21:05

Leftovers in a lovely soft roll. Obviously.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/12/2012 21:11

Cheese and crackers here. But I am MOST annoyed because cheese and crackers on Christmas Day means Garners red cabbage and none of our supermarkets appear to be selling it this year.

And I can usually force a few pieces of Christmas cake down too.

TooManyQualityStreet · 21/12/2012 14:14

Cheese, crackers and (as my name suggests) TooManyQualityStreet!

BluelightsAndSirens · 22/12/2012 17:12

Christmas dinner sandwhich.

Fresh cut loaf buttered with bread sauce and a sprinkle of stuffing, roast beef or turkey, slices of roast potatoe and then chopped up veg.

Butter top layer with cranberry or horseradish depending on the meat and heat up some gravy to dip the crust into.

Can't wait, looking forward to my sarnie more than dinner it's self.

Laughs in the face of the "you can't have a sandwhich for dinner" thread.

FestiveOrganisoid · 22/12/2012 17:13

Cheese and crackers, olives, toast and pate, cold meat. Picky bits really

LauriesFairyonthetreeeatsCake · 22/12/2012 17:22

A giant cheeseboard, home made chutney, loads of different posh ish crackers and a big game pie.

With alcohol.

SweetMingePie · 22/12/2012 17:32

A Christmas sandwich. A soft buttered bread bun, turkey, stuffing, brussell sprouts and gravy.

Also some cheese and crackers and choc.

I forgot to thank everyone for their suggestions, sorry! As it happens I didn't finish cooking lunch until quite late so we ended up being too full for 'tea' - but term much enjoyed a Christmas sandwich the next day! :)
