Easy fish recipes for kids?

Can anyone recommend some cheap and easy fish recipes I can serve as family meals? We eat well with a good mix of veggie and meat dishes but I rarely cook fish as I'm scared to!! But it's important that my kids have it so I'm looking for recipes/ ideas. My fear stems from fish bones, overlooked fish and watery fish. Many of which I was fed as a kid. Can you give me ideas for fish which won't have bones, and easy recipes please. Thanks.

I have found the jamie o fish pie recipe. Can anyone give me a tip for which fish to buy to just fry in a pan? Or any other easy recipe. Ta

Warm some creme fraiche up gently, add chopped smoked salmon and dill or chives, stir into pasta.

Smoked mackerel fishcakes are good. I like the bean salad with it but others aren't so keen at mine, so I just serve with green beans and a bit of the lemony mayo.

For fish pie, you can buy frozen packs of fish pie mix (generally salmon, smoked haddock and a white fish) which are less expensive that fresh. You can cook from frozen (poach in the milk you use to make the sauce).

Fish just to fry, try salmon or tuna. I really recommend chatting to your fishmonger. Even if it's one in your supermarket rather than a traditional one, I find them very helpful.

You will find the odd bone I'm afraid.

Oh and cooking en papillotte (ie baking in a parcel) is really easy. A lot of supermarkets now seal a fillet for you in a bag with flavoured butter, ready to put in the oven. Otherwise, wrap in a little foil with or without herbs, pesto maybe, whatever you fancy.

You don't say how old your children are but how about this which they could cook with you?

Tinned fish tends not to have bones / has soft edible bones, so might be easier to manage. You can make these pinwheels with a mixutre of tuna and pilchards so you're hiding the oily fish in with the "friendly" tuna fish, instead of ham.
