Don't like it 'neat' on crackers. There must be something nice I can do with it. Any ideas ?

Soup! With broccoli.

Delicious in toasted sandwiches.

Stilton and broccoli soup (or stilton & onion soup which I made once when I didn' have broccoli and is even more delicious).

Grated on jacket potatoes

Quiche

Grilled on top of chicken/pork/steak

Send it to me - I love stilton Grin

Melted on top of big roasted mushrooms.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 14/11/2012 18:17

Melted with a bit of milk and mixed with spinach makes amazing pasta sauce. Works wonderfully with spaghetti.

Mushroom, walnut and blue cheese pastries

Get a sheet of puff pastry and cut into 4.
Sautee some mushrooms and mix in with walnuts and crumbled blue cheese.
Score an edge around the pastry and put mushroom mixture inside margin. Brush pastry edge with a beaten egg and then bake for approx 15-20 mins.

New potatoes or just small waxy ones crushed with Stilton crumbled in served with steak is particularly tasty!

recall · 15/11/2012 14:11

someone told me the other day, to put it on top of a hot mince pie Shock

Ahardyfool · 15/11/2012 14:21

Stilton burgers, with broccoli as soup, oh so many (yummy) possibilities!

Very good with fruitcake!

Sprinkled on a sheet of puff pastry and cooked asparagus.

Mixed with cream and poured over chicken

artifarti · 16/11/2012 17:39

Sorry, I'm being flippant here but enter a cheese rolling competition !

wonkylegs · 16/11/2012 18:42

I've never had a big lump of Stilton long enough to try any recipes Sad
DS & DH are blue cheese fiends and polish off gigantic quantities usually when I'm not looking.
DH has however once made it grilled on top of steak for a special dinner it was yum.

ParsingFancy · 16/11/2012 18:45

Give it to me, unappreciative heathen!

Drooling now...

Ahardyfool · 16/11/2012 19:45

HollyBollyBooBoo · 17/11/2012 08:15

Stilton sauce for steak or chicken with chunky chips to dunk in it aswell.

Ullena · 18/11/2012 00:56

Crumble it over some spicy chicken wings and pop them in the oven to heat through. Lovely cheesy topping!

PrattingAroundTheChristmasTree · 18/11/2012 18:37

Make a stilton sauce and have with pasta. I do it with chorizo, crispy bacon chopped up, asparagus, onion & peas. Then add cream and stilton. Add pasta. My fave food ever.

berri · 19/11/2012 20:21

Warm up some cut & squeezed-open figs under the grill and put a little chunk of stilton on until it's melted. Lovely.

Taffeta · 20/11/2012 20:06

I had a rib of beef the other weekend with a stilton sauce which was To Die For.

From memory, it was stilton, creme fraiche, gherkins, lemon juice, shallots and tarragon whizzed up in a food processor .

I seriously recommend it. It was even better the next day with cold rare roast beef.

Depends whether blue or white

White stilton is lovely in sandwiches with thinly sliced tomato and black pepper - got to be really good wholemeal bread though.
