Uses for bicarb of soda, instead of cooking

I have some bicarb of soda and i know it can be used for lots of domestic things other tahn cooking...Anyone know what else it can be used for?

getting odours out of your fridge

for heartburn. a teaspoon in a glass of water

removing stains in coffee/tea cups.
removing stains on cloth nappies.
brushing teeth (eeuurrghh! but apparently gives v white results.
upset tummy - mix bofs with little milk eh voila indigestion remedy.
add to bath if child has itchy rash eg chickenpox.

leave dirty roasting pans in soak overnight with hot water and bicarb....makes em sparkle lovely!

Just sprinkled half a ton over a lovely second hand chair I bought that stinks of fags.Left it for 48 hours then hoovered.
Much improved.
Also on saucers in musty cupboards and drawers.

I may be getting confused with baking powder though....

1 teaspoon in 1 pint of boiled water as an eyebath for conjunctivitis etc.

DS2 used it with vinegar to make an erupting volcano in class this week.

Sprinkle it in the bin before you put the bag in. Also works on smelly trainers apparently.
