Where has all the baby pasta gone?

When dd1 (4) was a baby, I used to buy tiny baby (dried) pasta stars for her and she loved them with a variety of different sauces. Am now trying to find them for dd2 (9m), but can't find them anywhere - I've tried Tesco, Morrisons, Somerfield, plus places that do baby food like Boots. Do they still exist and if so, where can I get them? If anybody knows, please let me know!

i cant find them either (tho i think waitrose do similiar ones made for soup.... but the same)

The organic beatrix potter range makes orgainic little pastas (sold in Waitrose and tesco) but its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO expensive i refuse to buy it on principle!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 01/04/2006 09:22

Italian deli's do them. So my SIL tells me.

izzybiz · 01/04/2006 09:22

the only ones i know of are the Beatrix Potter ones, our boots sell them, i bought some once, but it fell to bits when i cooked it, and DD didnt like it anyway!

donnie · 01/04/2006 10:10

waitrose does the peter rabbit pasta which is tiny but nice! pricey though. It's in the baby food section.

alexsmum · 01/04/2006 10:13

yes organix used to do them but haven't seen them for a long time, only the beatrix potter ones.

BettySpaghetti · 01/04/2006 10:17

Organix got rid of them as they are aiming for their range to be completely gluten-free apparently.

Any good deli do the small pasta stars etc a LOT cheaper than any of the baby ones

lahdeedah · 01/04/2006 10:19

Sainsburys do mini pasta shapes - Conchiglietti and Fusillini. It's on the pasta aisle in our big superstore. That's the only place I've seen it though.

Coolmama · 01/04/2006 10:31

Del Cecco is a pasta range that do baby stars, hearts, alphabets and circles -

mumfor1standfinaltime · 01/04/2006 10:31

I have bought mini pasta shapes in tesco, a few weeks ago - farfillini. They were with other pasta. Ds wont eat them!

schneebly · 01/04/2006 10:36

we have the tiny bow shaped ones from tesco - think they are intended for soup.

zippitippitoes · 01/04/2006 10:38

spaghetti or noodles that you use for soup works well

Senoracod · 01/04/2006 10:43

has NON ONE arffed yet?
if not

arf

mumfor1standfinaltime · 01/04/2006 11:05

Why just soup schneebly? They are good size for little ones.

Squarer · 01/04/2006 11:07

arf at cod arfing.

My local Italian Deli does ridiculously small pasta shapes including the stars and the tiniest concheliege ever. Best place by a long chalk if you have one close. In the meantime, you could always bash some spaghetti into tiny bits.

I'm assuming this thread isn't an April Fools btw!

mummygow · 01/04/2006 11:14

I'm sure tesco do a range of baby rice and pata and it's called Peter Rabbit!! I am away to google this

mummygow · 01/04/2006 11:18

yeh - it's Peter Rabbit Tricolore Pasta - in the baby food section under the organic cereals & dry food section - £1.49 for a 175g bag.

Squarer · 01/04/2006 11:30

HOW much???????????

I now understand why these threads kick off Grin

notasheep · 01/04/2006 11:44

Baby Pasta-Whatever next! another overpriced consumer item we must buy-i dont think so.

Like baby bread sticks and apple puree!!!!!!!

cat71 · 01/04/2006 16:43

Thanks all! Will try local deli first to see if there's something that's less of a rip-off than the Peter Rabbit ones.

LadyTophamHatt · 01/04/2006 16:46

what I don't understand if why you buy in anyway. why not just cook normal pasta and cut it up really small.
It worked with my Ds's

Squarer · 01/04/2006 16:55

It costs about 50p for 500g from my Deli Cat71. I would send you some, but the postage would be about £2.50, putting it into Peter Rabbit realms Shock Grin

dramaticpenguin · 16/03/2010 14:58

Boots should do organic baby pasta shells, only bought them a few weeks ago and just checked boots online and they're still showing...

TrillianAstra · 16/03/2010 15:22

Bored, are we?

meltedmarsbars · 16/03/2010 22:27

I like letters and numbers pasta in soup - but the only place I can buy it is in Prague!
