Adding salt in 'spring water' tuna

Hi, I recently noticed that Sainsbury's tinned tuna in spring water now has added salt (written in small letters on ingredients list). I know that other brands also add salt to their tuna in 'spring water'. Is Waitrose the only retailer that doesn't do this? Can anyone advise - thanks! P.S. Aren't we supposed to be reducing the salt in our kids' diets? Sainsbury's have said they'll listen to consumer comments, so if you have a minute (ha!), maybe drop them a quick email?

Morrisons do tuna in spring water only, I assumed that's what I was buying when I ordered it from asda online only to find when it arrived that it had added salt.

I just don't understand this. I know it's a fish that lives in the sea so probably not salt-free but what's the point in putting it in spring water to then add salt to it? Not impressed!

That's weird, maybe they only add a small amount? In Tesco you can get tuna in vegetable oil, brine (isn't this salt water?) or spring water.
