Hi,

My stick blender has just packed up -it's the second blender that dies within a couple of years of being bought. Can you please recommend a good one, please? I was thinking of the Kenwood Triblade, anybody has got one of these? Thanks.

Haven't got a kenwood, but have got a Braun, for the last 8 years, which gets about 1x weekly use. Still going strong!

I've just got a regular Kenwood hand blender and it's lasted pretty well (10+ years & weaning 2 kids). The only problem is that mine is a little stained as it's white so i'd go for a stainless one next.

I've got a bodum bistro, comes with a mini chopper which is v handy. Cannot recommend it enough!

I've got a random cheapy one, have had it 5 years.

Mine's a Braun Multiquick which came with a mini chopper attachment. I got it when DS was a baby and he's 12yo now :)

nipersvest · 01/10/2012 11:29

i've got the kenwood and love it. mine is the set with all the different attachments. it replaced an old cheap one which i'd had for 10 years, i then got a £15 one but that only lasted a couple of months and was crap. my mum got the the kenwood set for my birthday!

javotte · 02/10/2012 15:09

The one I bought in Argos for £4.99 as a student in 2001 lasted 10 years.

VeganBody · 02/10/2012 16:01

Bodum!

ppeatfruit · 03/10/2012 12:08

Yup I can def. recommend the Kenwood Tri blade it's fab. I use it a LOT and it's quicker than the 2 blades.

schmalex · 03/10/2012 12:12

I ummed and erred before splashing out on a Bamix and I think it's worth every penny. I somehow managed to burn out the motor on my Braun.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 03/10/2012 15:51

I've also got the £5 Argos one and I've had mine 8 years. Still going strong and I use it a lot.

Ponders · 03/10/2012 15:57

I've got a Philips one & it's brilliant (is a Which best buy too)

it was less than £30 when I got it though Confused

hanglider · 03/10/2012 16:00

I second that Bodum!

bacon · 04/10/2012 10:27

I have a Bamix - heavy duty motor very high quality and quick - amazingly quick with cream/egg whisk. Great attachments too. It is very expensive though but I do use it and have a habit of burning out standard domestic quality products.

Kenwood, Bodum, Braun also great makes.

Ponders, the Philips blender you've linked is the same one i had -mine had a steel foot but it was the same model. It lasted just under two years and i didn't find it very powerful, to be honest. I think that cordless blenders tend to be less powerful than regular ones.

Like other posters, i too used cheap blenders in the past that lasted really well, perhaps the more functions they have, the more prone they are to develop a fault? No idea. Anyway, I've decided to in for the Triblade with the attachments, will report back!

Yaaay mosaica Smile you won't be disappointed I hope Grin

Ponders · 04/10/2012 14:26

Mine isn't cordless, mosaica?

It's powerful enough for me anyway Smile

mosaica · 04/10/2012 19:55

Ah, that's probably why is more powerful. I've read somewhere that cordless blenders are not usually v powerful for a technical reason i can't remember.

Ponders · 04/10/2012 21:16

I can believe that - I used to have a cordless screwdriver & it was rubbish Grin

my Philips is 600w - the Triblade is 700w so you should be very happy with it!

DameKewcumber · 04/10/2012 21:18

I have a bamix too v expensive but brilliant.

mosaica · 25/11/2012 22:34

Hi, I promised I would give you all an update on this, so here it is. I did buy the Kenwood Triblade and it is very powerful. It comes with lots of attachments and I would say it is certainly good value for money. However, the chopper attachment is a little tricky to close properly and within two weeks I snapped the pin at the top of the blade shaft while chopping cheese. This would not have happened if I had put the lid on properly, so it was really my fault, but I think the chopper lid could be better designed.

On the plus side, I phoned Kenwood and they posted a free replacement blade free of charge within two weeks, so a really good customer service from them.

I have a Bamix. Expensive but worth it IMO.
