...please. We've just agreed who is hosting christmas this year and its us so I could do with a cover-all bases book including fruit cake, meats and pies and side dishes or suggestions for a couple of books that will have it all sewn up.

Thank you!

Not sure I could recommend one book but The Duchy of Cornwall has the most amazing fig Xmas cake - doesn't have to sit for months maturing either!

I've got Delias and I really like it. I've barely used it though but that happens with all my cook books, it never means they're no good. Grin

I have Delia's, Nigella's and I'm sure one of Jamie's has Christmas recipes in.
I like them all for different things. Nigella's is particularly good all rounder.

Nigella's is good for timings as well, she gives you set times to do things so you're sitting down to eat with it all ready.

Delia is, of course, best for basics.

MarshmallowCupcake Any chance of you posting that recipe? Sounds lovely.

Good Housekeeping Christmas book is fab, and not too tricky. Great recipe for sticky sausages.

Nigella, definitely.

I've used the hairy bikers one for the past couple of years, has done me proud!
