What certificates/inspections do you need?

What do environmental health look for during their inspections?

What procedures must you have in place? Eg storage, traceability etc.

I have tried to research it but theres nothing helpful on my local council website relating to this.

Any advice or tips gratefully received. TIA

It is the Department of Health which manage all of this sort of thing. Look on the gov.org website and it will point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Thanks. I have already tried that website and my local councils. All I cound was quite vague.

I was hoping for someone who has been through it all to maybe give me a better insight!

:)

You need to speak to your local environmental health. They will tell you everything you need to know and email relevant documents, as it depends a bit on what business you have planned.

Order a copy of safer food better business from the direct gov website. It is a workbook for any food business which guides you through all the necessary procedures.

As to what environmental health are looking for.... It depends a bit on what your business is. If you use high risk ingredients they will expect more of you. They are usually very helpful, and want you to be successful, and I would consider phoning hem up and talking through your business plan with them, and they will help you to set things up correctly from the start.

They wil want to see you using sfbb as a working document.

They're coming to inspect me on Friday. I'm a Bach Flower Practitioner and making up bottles of remedies counts as food.

I'll let you know after they've been. (bookmarked)
