2007 want their frozen mushy peas back...

...found them in the bottom of a chest freezer. None of our family like mushy peas enough to actually cook them (it says for 20-30 minutes!). Dh & dd1 might go the occasional tub from the chippy.

Can't remember if they were bought in error for ordinary frozen peas, or if someone failed to notice the cooking time.

If I make them into some sort of soup, will we all die? Bag is sealed, freezer is in good nick.

We are trying to have soup for tea lots atm as new CM gives dc an elfy snack after school, so they aren't hungry enough for a cooked meal but need something when they get home...

No. Throw them out. They've been there for FIVE years!

Throw them into a pot with a stock cube and boil then whizz.. soup! I wouldn't throw them out, I hate waste and while they won't look pretty they won't kill you either :)

HeidiHole · 17/09/2012 14:44

Well I'd use them.

Don't know if you'll die or not though

mrsvilliers · 17/09/2012 14:51

Throw them out, they'll be flavourless mush after 5 years in the freezer even if they won't kill you!

ravenAK · 18/09/2012 20:24

Hmmm!

Might try turning them into a daal of some kind. The spices might disguise the flavourlessness & kill off anything lethal they've harbouring...

I reckon if I boil the buggers for the requisite time we'll be safe enough. I've got some out of date curry paste from Approved Foods so it'll at least be a cheap experiment!
