Am staying in on friday night, and it is a significant day and would like to cook something special, but easy and that doesn't take hours to cook or prepare.

Does anyone have any great ideas please?

Do you mean someone special is coming over for a romantic meal and a chance they may stay over?
My sister gave me some great advice years ago for this very situation - a nice light meal is best if you are going to shag later on Grin... Neither of you will be up for it if you've had lasagne and a big pudding!

Do you like tuna steaks?

startingtosmileagain · 12/09/2012 18:20

Haha Janx! TBH nothing gets in the way of that and we're not really light eaters!

No CamperFan, I don't like tuna steaks....

Steak if you're fans? It's our failsafe and so easy to cook. We eat with garlic and rosemary homemade wedges, also v easy.

Mediterranean vegetables:

Courgette, pepper, red onion and cherry tomatoes in oven roasted with some olive oil.

Boil pasta

Drizzle pasta with balsamic glaze or vinegar.

Veg on top of pasta.

Add goats cheese or feta.

Its mmmmmmmm and always goes down well with men Smile can serve with a posh tearing garlic bread or maybe dough balls.

Steak is always a winner! But I did that last time!

I have a recipe that was once known as 'definite shag food'.

Roast duck with cherry sauce. Add any veg/potatoes you like.

Get a duck, dry the skin, prick holes all over it and season with salt and bepper.

Shove in the oven for 2 hours - collect the fat for roast potatoes.

get a half bottle of red wine and half a jar of cherry jam (morello is best), put them in a pan together and reduce to a nice thick sauce.

Put the duck and veg on plates and have the sauce in a jug to pour.

Duck is quite rick so I'd probably do mash or new potatoes, green beans, baby carrots maybe wateercress.
