Silicone Bakeware?

I have a bit of extra money this month so thought I would spend it on baking stuff. What do you think of Silicone bakeware? Is it worth replacing my old tins or would my money be better spent expanding my tin range?

Not loads to spend btw - about £100. Just wondering whether to start building a collection of the silicone stuff?

tia :)

I'm not a big fan of silicon bakeware, think its just personal taste though. Maybe buy one cake pan and try it before committing to replacing everything. I do love my silicon spoons instead of wooden ones though!!

Don't trust the large type of tins as seem way too floppy for my liking - but do have a couple of silicone ones for small individual ones which seem to work ok. TK MAXX is good place to get them cheaply.

I gave got one of an average size for cakes and I use it loads. And I use it for fudge and for when I make cereal bars. I ha e a loaf tin too which is great too.

I have a silicon loaf tin. It's too floppy, though - my loaves bulge in the middle because the sides aren't stiff.

I had a roasting tin too but that split down a seam, which I was unimpressed about.

Easy to clean, mind.

I have a few a loaf tin one I use all the time as it's fab (put it inside an old tin one to keep the sides up and avoid bulging), cake comes out like a dream, easy to wash etc; a couple of small ones I use occasionally as I don't have any others that size / shape; some cupcake cases, which are a PITA to wash and I usually just use paper cases; and two that I seldom use as they stick (which negates the point of them!). So a mixed lot.

Suggest getting a couple (agree TK Maxx is a good place for them) and see how you get on. The ones that stick are Viners ones with a bumpy coating, the non- stick one is very smooth, if that helps you to choose.

I'm not a fan of the Tina tbh but I have a rigid frame silicone baking tray and I swear it is amazing Grin nothing sticks to it at all perfect for biscuits, cookies, pizza, tarts....anything really. Would recommend one absolutely.

Hmm bit of a mixed bag! Think I need to get a medium sized tin and a loaf tin to try out before getting anything else. Trip to TKMaxx tomorrow I think.
Thanks all :)
