what sort of cookies? If you want to make chewy white choc chip ones like the Sainsbury's ones there's a fab recipe on Recipezaar. Search on chewy chocolate cookies. I think someone called Carol posted it IIRC, but I could be wrong. Anyway, dp made them and they were excellent.

Tescos sells ready made chocolate chip cookie dough. I think it's made by Saxbys so other supermarkets might do it.

WickedXmasWitch - you wouldn't know what category to search under once you type in chewy chocolate cookies as there 979 recipes under that search. My DH loves the Sainsbury's ones. Might be a nice surprise.

I found one called "Carols soft and chewy chocolate chippies". Hopefully it's here!

Will try to bake some in the weekend - will update Monday. DH is at the rugby on Sat at Twickenham so hopefully it will be a nice surprise when he gets home.

Yes it was those TinselDragon, they're lovely. If you're veggie though, just be sure that any fairy cake mix you use is suitable for vegetarians.

Just this minute made some with my son, actually. The receipe is 100g butter, 100g caster sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 tbl sp vanilla, 175g flour and 175g choc chips. Blend together butter and sugar. Mix together beaten egg and flavouring. Stir egg mixture into sugar and butter. Sift in flour and stir until smooth. Stir in choc chips. Put heaped tablespoon of mixture onto greased baking tray, and flatten. Should make 12 in all. Bake at Gas Mark 4 for 10-15 minutes - they should be lightly golden and slightly soft to the touch whilst hot. Put on wire rack to cool.

The Green's cookie mixture is very yummy too....

Found this old thread and I reeeeeeeaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllly want to make this recipe WWW recommended but it's from an american site and I need help translating a couple of the ingredients...
'all-purpose flour' [plain flour?], also
'instant pudding mix' [no idea!]

The recipe is below for anyone who fancies a go.

25 min 15 min prep
2 1/4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter or margarine (softened)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding (I use instant pudding mix)
2 large eggs
1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips
1 cup nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 375°.
Mix flour with baking soda in a bowl and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine butter, sugars and pudding mix.
Beat until smooth and creamy.
Beat in eggs; gradually add flour mixture.
Stir in chips and nuts.
Roll into balls and flatten slightly or drop by teaspoon full on a non greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.
Note: You may use instant chocolate pudding instead of vanilla pudding for a chocolate chocolate chip cookie.
