Fish Fingers?!

Are there any fish fingers that are ok to give to 9mth baby? I read somewhere that they are a good, easy lunch but don't want to give DS anything high in salt etc. I haven't had time yet to research the supermarkets!

Birdseye 100% cod or haddock fillet ones are the best I've found, (I'm really not sure if a 9m old can have any salt at all though, ds is 21m and I've forgot all the baby rules:)) I'm always reading ingredients and they are the most 'natural' I've come across in the shops. Or you could always make your own which would be the best, more hassle though:o
Ds also had some Young's salmon fish fingers which were good but my local Morissons only ever had them the once

The Waitrose ones are really good. (Are pretty healthy and taste good to - I have been known to steal the odd one from DS1's plate! Blush)

Really easy to make them yourself - that way you can use any fish you like -
cut fish fillet into strips
dip in beaten egg and then roll in breadcrumbs/crushed kellogs or cheerios, fry in a little vegetable oil and all done!

My 9 month old ate birds eye 100% cod fish fingers and he didn't come to any harm.

Both my DS's ate Birdseye fish fingers at around 9 months.

And while we're on the topic of ready made food......how about veggie sausages? Can anyone suggest a good brand not too high in salt / additives etc?

I'd like to find some too chocolateshoes cos every type I see seem to have unnatural ingredients, like cauldron and linda mccartney

It does seem that I'll have to follow F&Z's advice & make a load to freezr before I go back to work. I sense a major cookathon looming.
