What to do with passion fruit?

I bought 3 passion fruits in a fit of 'try something new'. I cut one in half and found the flesh very runny and full of seeds. I tried a spoonful and it tasted very sharp and the seeds were unpleasant to crunch. How is it supposed to bs eaten? What recipes can I do with them?

Hull some strawberries, scoop out the passion fruit and mix together in a bowl. Cover and leave for half and hour before eating. I've served this with lemon tart at a posh dinner party and it went down well.

Do you leave the seeds in the passion fruit? I found them very off putting and was still pulling bits out of my teeth an hour later.

They are a bit bitty but I leave them in. Not sure I could be bothered to extract them.

We always have a fruit salad in the fridge, to put on our morning muesli.
I cut up a pineapple, kiwi fruits, grapes and then add the insides of a few passion fruits. It makes everything sort of flow together and juicy.

You musn't eat them until they are fully ripe - ie all the skin has wrinkled up. They are sour and yuk otherwise.

I am making a passion fruit cheesecake this weekend. I've made a passion fruit and lemon cake before which was delsih, or you could do a passion fruit pavlova. Or make passion fruit curd.

Its also naice dribbled over thinly sliced pineapple as a refreshing pudding. Fridge it for an hour clingfilmed for full flavour. Use pulp seeds juice and all.

Or cut in half and give to DC in the bath with a spoon to eat like an egg

I love passion fruit, me. Grin

Mix with natural yoghurt and honey for a dessert.

I think if you don't like the seeds, you don't like passion fruit.
