Is there a quick, easy way to de-pip(?) cherries?

DD1 came back from FILs with a load of cherries and is very excited about making a pie. Is there an easy, not-too-messy way of getting all the pips out?

Cheers

Lakeland sell a cherry stone removing gadget for around £7.50, also works on olives. My DS loves popping out the stones and eating the cherries, we too had ambitions of making a cherry pie a few weeks ago but we ate all the cherries and had none left.

The monarch of cherry pippers.

Which tragically it appears Lakeland no longer sell. You may need a regular supply of cherries to justify splashing out though the enormous fun of ker-plunking the plunger is reason enough.

Hi,
I haven't got a quick solution I'm afraid, but you can buy brilliant olive/cherry de-stoners. I bought one for about £1.50 a few years ago from a tiny hardware store in Sardinia, it's my favourite kitchen utensil (kitchen geek alert). I'm sure you'd be able to find one on the internet. As I say not an immediate solution but a great cheap time saver if you eat lots of cherries.

How about grabbing the cherries with a small pair of tongs, and poking a chopstick through them? That's the basic principle of my clever little contraption.

Mmmm enjoy the cherry pie (licks lips in envy).

Thank you. FIL has a cherry tree so may well be a good investment to get a gadget. I'll have a look for next time. This time...cherry juice everywhere!
