Looking at recipes online these are basically the same, aren't they? Anyway, have just put one in the oven. It was my first time of making this and I was surprised how thick the mixture was. It didn't look very 'wet', despite the soaking of the fruit etc. The recipe said 'pour' the mixture into the baking tin, but no way could this pour - it was too dense! Am I going to get a horrible dry result, or is this what the mixture should be like?

Another hour until it comes out of the oven... do I need to steel myself for a bad result?

How did it turn out?
As far as I can tell, the main difference is that one's Irish & the other's Welsh.

The only difference judging by the recipe! It's out of the oven and will be cut at teatime, so will let you know!
(It looks fine from the outside!)

It's lovely! Now I just have to get around the fact that everyone else in the house has declared that they don't like dried fruit! Grrr...
