Not oranges Grin, growing on a tree in my garden

And I thought that I would cook them and jar them, in place of the canned pears that the DC love for pudding.

BUT I have no idea how to do this!

Anyone got any tried and tested methods and tips they wish to share?

Delia Smith has a nice recipe for spiced pickled pears :)

I love cooked pears... peel them but leave core and stalk in tact. Stand in a small amount of water with cinnamon and poach til soft. Yummy!

Thanks Kat.

On phone but will look at that link later, thank you.

When you say aitle water, does it cover the pears? Does the top bit steam with a lid on?
