Any recipes for using up the dregs of cereal packets?

I've been wondering for ages whether there are any recipes out there for using up the last bits in the cereal packets and thought I'd turn to you lovely lot on here for help.

I've currently not been able to chuck away got in the cupboard the bottom of a fruit & fibre bag as well as a Special K bag and the end of some crunchy nut cornflakes.

I was thinking of perhaps a Biscuit recipe but I'm open to all suggestions.

Someone out there must have thought the same as me?!

Add melted chocolate and marshmallows to them. Smile

Bosh it all together into chocolate crispy cake things (crispy cake surpriseGrin.

Or get some rats, all my left over cereal dregs go into the mix I make up as rat food.

I make lunch treats I think they are called from Nigella Express. I wrap them individually and dh takes them to work.

Eat it in a bowl with milk?

My dad has always finished the boxes around here as he can't bear waste. My DCs have grown up coveting the "crumbs" as they think their DGD likes them because they're the best bit. They now fight over who's turn it is to have the end of the box Grin They're 9 & 11 Blush

Oh yeah, we used to have massive fights over the 'stuffy bits' Grin

Thanks everyone so far! Gobblers I thought at first you meant attract some wild rats with them... Grin

O2B I haven't thrown them away for that very reason; I hate waste. But when it becomes a mix of dust and tiny bits of cereal etc it's too hard to filter out.

It's just popped into my mind whether the garden birds would eat it otherwise?

But so far, melted chocolate seems to be a key ingredient...

Could you whizz them all in a blender and use it to make a crumble topping or cheesecake base?

mrspink27 · 11/06/2012 15:02

Nigella lunchbox treats

O2BNormal · 11/06/2012 15:04

Oh no south, it's the DUST they fight over Grin

You can bung it into crumbles, replacing flour weight for weight. Depending what cereals you like sometimes it comes out fabulous, and sometimes a bit wierd. The loose bits from Weetabix works quite well.

southlundon · 11/06/2012 16:07

O2B really?! You have them well trained (or perhaps I should train my DDad to come round and try that trick).

At this rate I think I'll have to mix all the bits together in one bag and keep adding more dust (which reminds me of Little Britain) until I have enough to add to a crumble. DH normally makes crumbles but I'm sure I can learn :)

I also hate wasting the dust, but it makes me gag at breakfast. I make rock cakes or cookies with ours, we hv muesli dregs mainly. I add a egg, some flour, a bit of syrup or honey, and a little oil. Roll into balls and bake for 15-20 mins.

OhNoMyFanjo · 15/06/2012 22:05

Nigella rocky road is fab and really easy to change.

southlundon · 16/06/2012 08:08

Thanks OhNo. Do you mean this one Nigella?
:)

Yes, I have had loads of compliments and have never followed it to the letter. I always use a little extra syrup, make sure you chop tge butter small and start to melt it before adding tge choc to melt. It will stop tge choc from splitting if it's on for too long.

I like adding choc tea cakes chopped up and cherrys, also a handful of rice crispies. Basically anything you have hanging around. I also use two bars of dark with one bar of milk choc, have made it with m&s choc for presents and sainsburys basics for me and tbh the basics was just as good.

Remembr to save done of tge choc mix to pour on top as it is what makes it extra yummy. It is very, very naughty especially when kept in tge fridge.

southlundon · 16/06/2012 14:20

Brilliant. Might have to make it later if I have any chocolate lying around :)
