I know its a stupid question, but if I get a mixer (will have to be a cheapy next one while I save up for my kitchen aid) do you just chuck the ingredients for bread and pizza etc in the mixer and switch it on? becasue I cant knead dough to save my life, I have no idea why and i would like to make bread and pizza bases etc.

If you wanted a cheapie mixer for kneading bread and pizza dough, it would be cheaper to buy a bread-maker. Aldi/LIDL often have them quite cheaply, and that would be better than a cheaper mixer which will waltz all over the work surface due to the weight of the dough.
