Have people been using non-edible glitter on cakes etc. then? Shock
I have edible glitter in three different shades but went to a cake-decorating shop to get them - isn't that what you would do? (they're all also labelled as edible)

This has been going on for months/years/

Thumbwitch, for years and years, people, including professional bakers, have been using 'non toxic' glitter on cakes. It was labelled as 'edible' in a lot of cases and certainly marketed as suitable for food use/being eaten. Then, the FSA decided that unless the glitter was actually digestible then it wasn't allowed to be used on cakes that were to be eaten any more. Nevermind the fact that people had been eating it for years and years without coming to any harm.

The problem with edible glitters is, so far they simply aren't that glittery. Most cake decorators for that reason simply won't use glitter now.

If are making cakes as a business, you can't use glitter that isn't labelled 'edible'. If you are a home baker maing a cake for your family, you can do what you like really.
