Making cake it says to put in for 2 hours - deep tin. Instead we have done two smaller tins and not sure how long to do them for. Any help appreciated - have been in oven for 45 mins so need to know ASAP Grin

I ,would take out and skewer test now

depends on size of tins.

If about half I'd check it now... is it fruit cake or sponge?

Fruitcake takes longer but can burn around edges with a long cook.

What cake it is? If you have a toothpick or skewer, you can test for doneness by pricking the middle - if the toothpick comes out clean, it's done. But there are a few cakes this doesn't apply to.

Thanks - just cracked and checked it - looked ok - its only on 160degrees. Skewer was fine but didn't completely srping back with fingertips - just worried about overdoing it Sad

if the skewer is clean I'd say its cooked. Careful not to overcook a sponge or it goes v dry.

cake looks fab!
