Is it okay to feed risotto containing white wine to 10 month old baby?

Sorry if this has been done before...... I made a delicious risotto last night, with a generous slug of white wine, plus I used powdered vegetable stock which has added salt. There is loads left over so would love to be able to give some to DD for her tea today. She is 10 months old - is this okay?

TIA

If you cooked it for a while I'd have thought that all the alcohol would have boiled off in which case it's fine.

I would, by 10 months my ds was eating pretty much what we ate.

It's probably the law in Italy

go for it

I think it should be fine, too, as long as it simmered for a while after the wine went in.

Alcohol would have been cooked off, I was feeding mine the same as the rest of the family by that age too.

Sounds nice btw!

If it's been cooked then the wine won't be an issue. The salt might be, though. In your position I'd be inclined to give her some but be extra specially careful about salt content of anything else you're giving her today and tomorrow, but I can also see that it would be perfectly reasonable to get put off by the salt.

I agree, wine would of cooked off, anyway.
Like the others, ds was eating largely what we ate at 9 months.
So good for you.
I'm sure DD is loving it.

thanks all, that's really helpful. I'll keep an eye on the salt content. I'm so glad we're moving out of the separate baby food stage, I am getting well and truly cheesed off with it. Now I just need to get her feeding herself...

When I was weaning DD, I worried about the salt content of stock cubes too, so I had a look at the amounts. Now bear in mind that this was 18 mths ago so I can't quote figures, but I worked out that her portion from a meal of, let's say, mince cooked using 2 oxo cubes, contained less salt than jar of shop bought baby food (I don't add extra salt when i cook btw) As Leah said, if you're worried, make sure the rest of the days meal are salt free, but there shouldn't be anywhere near enough to be a problem.

Thanks Serenity, that's reassuring to know. I think I've been reading too much Annabel Karmel - everything should be unseasoned, organic, etc etc.... aarrggh!!

yes agree all the alcohol will have evaporated off in cooking.
