Inspired ideas for storing recipes

I have 100s of paper copies of recipes. Ripped from magazines, printed off t'internet, written on scraps of paper etc.
Currently they are stuffed in my ancient sixth form ring binder, some in plastic wallets, some organised by main ingredient.
The consequence of which is that I never use them.
If you have paper recipes, how do you organise them? Any suggestions?

I, sadly, have a fab system for my recipes. I have a file for 'specials', likee gluten free cakes, Christmas dinner, kids' party ideas - things I don't want very often, but think I might need at some point. Then, I have a file box with all my other recipes in, either written on cards or cut out of magazines and folded to fit. I spent ages adapting the categories so they really fit in to the way I think about recipes - I now shop online, so I decide what I'm going to cook, then pull out any recipes I need to order the ingredients. So, my categories are cuisine types first (e.g. Italian, Mexican - the types I really like), then a few things that didn't fit in (sausages, meat/poultry dishes), 'easy puddings', 'easy bakes', then 'dinner party dishes' (things I'll never just cook even at the weekend) and side dishes, starters and canapes, soups etc, and more complicated or time consuming puddings and baking. Every so often I lay all the categories out on the floor and throw away things I haven't cooked or that I have more than one recipe for as well as checking that the categories still work for me.

Having read that I realise I am a deeply disturbed person - especially given how much pleasure it gives me! - please don't judge me.

If you are disturbed then so am I! I love that idea babybouncer.
I love reading recipes and get genuinely excited when I see a new one I know I'll like. Blush
I love sorting them all out and realise that organising by main ingredient doesn't allow me to get best use of them. I LOVE the idea of sorting by occasion and style.
Ta!! Smile
