Going to have chilli tomorrow with sour cream etc but always end up with half a pot of leftover cream, 150 mls or so. What can I do with it?

Add it to mashed spuds instead of butter and milk. Mmm

Scones

Dollop on top of spicy tomato sauce with meatballs

Cook pasta, fry lardons and courgettes, mix sour cream with grated parmesan and black pepper - combine all the ingredients

Carrot cake - there are lots of recipes for this that use sour cream

You can use it in fajitas?

Ooh carrot cake, could do it on the weekend. Just googled and nigellas got one requiring 142 mls of sour cream, perfect, and all the other stuff is in stock too Smile

It goes in my favourite chocolate fudge cake recipe. I made a chilli last night to use up the rest of the sour cream from DH's birthday cake, so you could do the reverse.

The carrot cake is delicious - really moist and tasty

Banana and sour cream loaf, yum.

Fajitas,
Jacket potato or potato skins
I add soured cream to loads of other things too tbh such as a dollop on top of my spicy chicken & chorizo casserole or with a spicy chicken pizza. DH think I'm weird but it's good with loads of things especially spicy chicken.

stir in some paprika and salt and use as dip with veg.

Use it to make some stroganof - fry red onions with either plenty of mushrooms (if you are veggie) or some meat if you aren't, when cooked, pour in a couple of measures of brandy and flambe, then stir in a measure of plain flour. Add your sour cream, a measure of soy sauce and some cayenne pepper. Serve with rice. (quantities given if serving 2, double or triple up if required)

Or just have mexican again within a couple of days.

We love mexican food but I rarely buy proper sour cream for it. A quarter of a pack of philadelphia with a little milk whisked into it with a fork until it is the right consistency is almost identical in taste and doesn't lead to half-pots-of-anything needing to be finished up
