Everyday Chocolate Sauce

For some reason, I can't find a satisfactory recipe for an everday family chocolate sauce. Any I find are either too fancy or they don't work.

I just want to make something quick to pour over some ice-cream - what do you do for this?

butter, golden syrup and drinking chocolate, put in bowl and then in the microwave on low power for about 30 seconds, stir - add some more choc if not dark brown, serve immeadiately. It will keep in the fridge for a few days but will set so will need to reheat if you want to pour it.
Also good on toast or on pancakes

This is my recipe for chocolate sauce:

2 tablespoons (ish) of butter
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons golden syrup

Heat all ingredients in a pan over a low heat, until sugar is dissolved.

If you pour it over ice cream the sauce will go hard and a bit chewy (which I think is nice!)

Thanks, I see where I have been going wrong. I've been looking at recipes that contain chocolate. Easy mistake to make! I'll get some cocoa powder today.

I sometimes melt a bit of Nutella in very short bursts in the microwave.

Nice over chopped strawberries/raspberies or bananas/pineapple.

This is the best ever and dead easy.

Melt some cocoa in melted butter (just melt, don't cook or the cocoa goes hard and lumpy) add condensed milk. Done.

I would say quantities are roughly 1 dessert spoon butter (melted), 1 rounded tablespoon cocoa, half tin of condensed milk.

It will be warm initially but can be served cold, which means it is thicker.

You can add more cocoa which makes it chocolatier or less and it is sweeter. Likewise more c milk makes it sweeter and creamier.

Any way is delish.

My family have an assortment of food intollerances between them, so this one works for us.

100 gm dark chocolate
100 ml Oatly cream
1 tbsp golden syrup.

Put in a saucepan over a low heat until the chocolate has melted, stirring fairly constantly. Eat.

I often make fruit fondue, ie this sauce, with various chunks of fruit to dip into it. It's very popular with my DCs and at least one of their 5 a day.

100g dark chocolate
110ml milk
2tbsp creme fraiche
10g butter
15g sugar

Melt chocolate.
Scald the milk with the creme fraiche, and add to the chocolate
Add the sugar and the butter, and bring to the boil for 2 mins
The sauce is thick any glossy - any left will set in the fridge. So, if want the sauce to be thickish, it's best to let it cool a little.

The recipe is from a French commercial book by Gaston Lenotre

i melt chocolate, add golden syrup, butter, double cream and some cocoa

more choc and cocoa to thicken, or more syrup/butter/cream to loosen
