I'm normally very much a if it's not unnaturally green, mutated or making its own way to the bin it's fine to eat it type of person but am feeling a bit wary.

I made too much butter icing ten days ago do put the spare in the fridge. It's alright to put on a cake isn't it? After all I keep butte in the Ifridge longer than that.

Need reassurance before I poison my family for my youngest birthday tea

Tia

taste it - if it tastes ok then I'd use it.

IDismyname · 16/04/2012 17:32

I'd think it was OK. Try it. If it smells and tastes ok and you're demolishing the cake soon, I'd go for it.

AnEcumenicalMatter · 16/04/2012 17:34

I would...as long as it looks, smells and tastes okay. Like you say, butter has a longer shelf life than that. And look at the shelf-life of some shop-bought cakes that have butter icing. Also assuming there's nothing else in it that could have gone off in the meantime like milk or anything?

Tastes ok ish am coldy so everything astea a bit odd. Don't think the cake Will last long once the gannets descend so will go for it. Thanks

There was a tablespoon of milk in it but I don't think that will be enough to harm

I always rely on the taste test. Never poisoned anyone (yet!). I'm sure it's fine. Enjoy!
