Party lunch for a celiac? What do I give him as alternative?

It's DS1s party next week. I am giving them their lunch in bags since its a cinema party with limited space. Most of the children are having cheese and/ or ham sandwiches, crisps a fairy cake, a box of raisins and orange juice. I'm assuming I can buy celiac bread and cakes for the child who is a celiac? Or do I need something else - crackers of some sort?

Also popcorn? Is that ok for celiacs? Confused

I'd say popcorn. Could you perhaps get some gluten free cornflakes and make some choc crackles?
Gluten free bread would be the way to go for the sarnies.
My friends kids are gluten intolerant and she often gives them gluten free marshmallows.
I am no expert btw Blush

Pom bears are gluten free!

Asda do a good range of GF foods. Google under the spelling coeliac as well, as it is the more usual spelling in the UK.

popcorn should be ok

What a tactful way of telling me my spelling is rubbish bunbaker Grin

They spell it as celiac in the US, so don't worry.

You can buy genius bread in the bigger supermarkets which is gluten free. I would just double check with the child's mum first.

I second popcorn. You could also make those top hat cakes with chocolate and marshmallows, or I have done rocky road with gluten free digestives before and it went down well. Although you can buy gluten free cakes in the supermarket if that's easier.

Agree all supermarkets now do a reasonable range of cakes etc that are GF. Rather than do sandwich (the bread is not usually that good) why not add carrot & cucumber sticks and little toms. Read the back of the crisps packets too.

I recently had a celiac guest at my Ds party, so I made the whole thing GF. I did GF sausages, GF pizza, carrot/cucumber/pepper sticks, grapes, strawberries, tesco cheese puffs (which are GF) and made rice crispie cakes. The guests mum made the birthday cake for us, and made it GF so her DD could have some.
