Hi everyone, I received an offer from Living Social this morning, offering a weeks worth of food and 4 meal kits for £34.
Has anyone tried these diets? Do they actually work?
I'm not sure if they're recommended for use post birth, can anyone help?

Link to it below should anyone want to read the fine print:

You still need to add the fresh ingrediants (i.e. veg/salad/fruit) to each meal so would need to factor that into cost and that will up the calorie content (albeit by a very small amount if just plainly cooked). Also 1200 a day is a very low calorie content so you may need to add a couple of snacks - could be fruit though as bananas are around 110 calories. Plus presumably you'd still be spending money on food for rest of family and time preparing it.

However it is a relatively easy way to diet and does take a lot of the effort out and if you can afford it why not give it a trial. Quite a lot depends on what it tastes like thouhg.

Sorry missed the post birth bit - how long post birth? If you are breastfeeding you definately cannot cope on 1200 calories per day - you'd need at least 1800 (which you could still lose weight on btw). Even if you are not breastfeeding but are still within 3 months post birth I would not recommend going that low.

Have a look at www.myfitnesspal.com if you know your weight and height and it will give you an idea of how many calories per day to lose how much weight per week (plus exercise gives you extra calories to spend). Is free to sign up and doesn't spam you.
