These are the things I most fancy at the moment - please can you share your best, best t&t recipes for them?

  1. Dal - ideally one that is all yellow and earthy and garlicky and that doesn't have any tomatoes in it
  2. One of those chocolate puddings that look like a cowpat and make their own sauce on the bottom
  3. vegetable biryani of some sort (hopefully an easy one that has a sauce alongside)
  4. bread and butter pudding

I need comfort food! Tia. :)

That's the one!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/03/2012 21:37

Ah - my fault for confusing you in the thread title then, sorry. I'm actually looking for recipes for v specific things (see OP) and am a vegetarian. I bet dp would love it though!

You want Bill Granger's recipe for self saucing chocolate pud

and for bread and butter pudding use pannetonne.... or fruit loaf, it's much nicer than ordinary bread and the raisins do not burn to buggery.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/03/2012 15:15

Bill Granger too posh. I want one huge pudding, not four little ramekins. Just want something like we used to have on Guide camp, nothing fancy! But thank you for the recipe. I like Bill Granger - he seems quite down to earth.

oh no...just shove it all in one dish....it's an agreeable recipe and a simple recipe, dd used to make it!

Might do it over the weekend now i have remembered it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/03/2012 15:28

Thank you. We are greedy though - 4 little pots worth will need tripling I think! :)

B&B Pudding is lush made with Hot Cross Buns; I'll see if I can find my recipe.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/03/2012 15:44

Yes please - sounds gorgeous.

Now - shall I add a few more things?

  • best ever recipe for a vegetable quiche
  • best ever recipe for a vegetarian pasta dish
  • best ever recipe for stuffed peppers

Not quite quiche, but Delia's thick onion tart It's really good.
Puttanesca is great, but you'd have to leave out the anchovies, and HFW's macaroni peas was a hit here.
I like the sound of that paneer dish too, but have only tried mattar paneer with it so will be watching this and having a google.
I hate peppers, so never made them. I should really though, as DD loves them and I could stuff the filling into something else for me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/03/2012 18:55

I love paneer - quite often just fry slices with cumin seeds and mustard seeds and use to top a veggie curry.

Onion tart = ace but need a few ideas for other flavour combo's.

You could stuff tomatoes, or courgettes maybe?

Right, been googling paneer recipes to try.
paneer with brocolli and sesame
romano peppers stuffed with paneer and peas
I'm going to make this for DD, and stuff an aubergine for me.
Malai kofta with spicy gravy
I'll leave out the raisins, I don't like fruit in savoury food, and I think you could easily leave out the tomato in the sauce and sub with coconut milk.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/04/2012 16:21

Paneer stuffed peppers - yum: will deffo make those (but would cook the peppers a bit first, as I think they'd still be almost raw after just 12 mins.

The kofta look gorgeous too - and I'd be fine with a few pureed fresh tomatoes. It's not the flavour I object to, just tinned tomatoes or big lumps of fresh.

I didn't read the method, just saw the recipe and thought that would combine two of your asks, and be good for DD.
I really should cook peppers for her more because she loves them. I just buy them for her to snack on.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/04/2012 18:52

Does she like feta? If so, this is an awesome quick and easy meal if ever you need to just feed dd quickly:

one Romano pepper - slice lengthways and remove seeds;
cube a bit of feta and mix it with a squeeze of lemon, a slurp of oil, a finely chopped red onion, few herbs if liked;
stuff inside the pepper halves and put them on a baking tray;
drizzle with a bit more oil and cook for about 15 mins or so.
Soooooooooo tasty.

You could add a bit of pesto, some halved cherry toms, use normal peppers instead of Romano etc etc.
