Beef steak - how to cook for a 3yo?

Normally I will cook DD's (3y9m) steak quite well done. However this time I have just one large fillet for her and DH to share. DH has his steak medium/medium rare - no blood but still a little pink in the middle. Is this okay for DD? Or do i need to try and cut her portion off before I cook it, so I can do hers longer?

Thank you

Yes,no worries.

Yes, so can have it a bit pink?

Makes life much simplier if so. Thanks!

I don't eat meat so I am never 100% sure on it! I jut know how long to do it for DH after practise. LOL!

I think it's perfectly safe - I would give it to my boys. Not with blood oozing out, obviously, but a bit of pink is fine.

Yeah Excellent. Dh says it is tastier that way, so she may well like it even more too!

Thanks for the info.

We have now eaten. DD loved the fillet steak even more than normal! Helped as the middle was pink - favourite colour

Getting her into good habits there!

Definitely. Not much food she doesn't like - lucky there!

It's much more tender when not well done.

I give my boys rare meat (red in the middle, with blood oozing out) from when they eat meat. It's always good quality meat. Are we not meant to do this?

No idea NQC. I don't think I could serve it with blood running though. DH likes it pink and that's as far as it goes. Think the blood might be a bit too much for me to cope with though!

Ah, I always eat beef and lamb quite red. It does look freaky, seeing blood running out of the mouth of a baby, but it doesn't seem to have done them any harm yet.
