its fantastic

jane313 · 29/01/2006 21:48

why don't you just let her have yours? Much less work. Just no added salt and not too spicy

starlover · 29/01/2006 21:49

no no no annabel karmel is rubbish!
she tells you to put HONEY in yoghurt for small babies!!!! wtf is with that?

i have a lovely one called healthy baby and toddler foods.... it has LOVELY recipes in it

you can get it on amazon here

In the complete toddler guide A>K> explains that honey can cause infant botulism, can't understand why she would tell you to use it in another book?
Ask your health visitor for a book, mine gave me quite a good one.

Never noticed that Annabel told me to use honey! Love her baby recipe book It is very thorough, and no mention of honey before a year old!

jessikart · 31/01/2006 22:52

DEFINITELY no honey before a year old - every recipe book I've read advises this!

My absolute favourite of all time is 'Finger food for babies and toddlers' by Jennie Mazels. It's mainly for parents who have independently minded kids (who REFUSE to be spoon-fed), but all of the recipes are easy to follow, quick to make and are the sort of thing you would have in your cupboard.

Reassuringly for a meateater like me bringing up a veggie child she provides loads of meat-free alternatives, and at the end of each recipe there's a little section on what's good about each meal. Most of the recipes are family-friendly too, so it's not a case of cooking two meals for three people.

LOVE Annabel karmel! And lost the book at Christmastime! I mean, its a big book, HOW could I lose it! Think I must have wrapped it up with someones present and given it away! Anyway, now that I've ordered a new one online, I'm sure the old one will turn up at home. Story of my life.

I have a GF book.

I didn't read any of the routiney stuff that was with it but I liked the recipes and more importantly, dd did.
