How much milk for a three year old?

Hello

My dd is almost three and I just wondered how much milk she should be drinking everyday.

She has hardly any milk in her cereal so I cant really count that and does not have yogurts or cheese everyday.

At the moment she drinks two lots of 7ozs so 14ozs in total.

Thats about 14oz more than my 3 yr old,I wouldn't worry!

Sounds plenty to me. If you want her to have more, just use it in sauces, custard etc, but really, thats a lot more than a lot of kids I know.

That is more than enough for a 3 year old. Once they get to one year I think they only need 12 oz a day, and that is debatable.

from the age of one year the minimum recommended is 350mls/about 12 ounces but this does include milk with cereal, dairy products, etc so to get the daily allownace they wouldnt even need to drink much milk at all as long as they had other sources of calcium.

So does anyone know what the medics say the recommended amount of milk a 3yr old should have daily?

I am still trying to get her to drink milk from the fridge. She likes it warm.

As I said before, from one year it is around 350mls/12 ounces (so for a 3 year old it is still around 350mls/12 ounces).

This is from the babycentre website:

From one year, milk should still play an important role in your baby's diet, as it provides essential protein, calcium, magnesium and vitamins B12 and B2 (riboflavin). Your baby needs to have a minimum of 350ml (two thirds of a pint) of full-fat cows' milk each day. If he or she becomes reluctant to drink milk, try offering two portions of calcium-rich foods a day. Yoghurt, cheese, tinned mashed sardines, tofu, white bread and chick peas all contain calcium.
