I have kalamata olives, humous and pesto but no Green & Blacks

sunchowder · 01/02/2006 18:58

Ah you can do one of those cakes like the lady on Vicar of Dibley then! I forgot her name, she used tarmosalata alot in her cakes!

I finally got to taste some Green and Blacks over the holidays, OMG, very delish and organic too!!! My DH had never heard of it, I must thank everyone who ever mentioned it.....

SoupDragon · 01/02/2006 19:01

sunchowder · 01/02/2006 19:07

MarsOnLife · 01/02/2006 19:38

World domination is almost mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Twiglett · 01/02/2006 19:40

waddabout chocolate chillis soupy?

(soaked in vodka for 12 hours first?)

SoupDragon · 01/02/2006 19:56

wrong wrong wrong

SoupDragon · 01/02/2006 19:57

(but Nigella's chocolate gingerbread... Oh My God! Heaven in a cake.)

Hazellnut · 01/02/2006 19:59

another quick question (sorry ML) - cake is now in oven (cake mix tasted lovely so so far so good !). If you were serving it tomorrow - would you do the drizzle bit tomorrow before serving or when its out the oven (is the point that the cake should be warm at the time ?)

Sorry !!

MarsOnLife · 01/02/2006 20:12

do it when the cake comes out of the oven.

Don't forget to prick the cake and squeeze half a lemon over it. That way the lemon goes right into the cake.

Then warm the rest of the lemon juice and add as much icing sugar as you want. Some (like me) like lots of icing, others don't. hth

btw..... chocolates with chilli in.....yummmy yum yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and drowning in vodka.......... soupy... you know nothing!

Hazellnut · 01/02/2006 20:32

Thanks again !

Hazellnut · 02/02/2006 17:18

Just a quick one to add my praise for the lemon drizzle cake - me and my chums have just scoffed it (and everyone had second bits !!). Thankfully there's still some left for dh as he loves cake ! Thanks `for the recipe !!

Nbg · 02/02/2006 17:28

It is a fab cake isn't it!

I even gave half to my in laws and they loved it.
Dh had his warm with custard which was yummy too.

I am definatley going to substitute the lemons for something else.
Chocolate sounds good

Now if my dh here's that it can be served warm with custard he will be heaven - will go and have a rummage on the cupboards to see if we have any custard before I tell him !!

Twiglett · 03/02/2006 08:31

so have you tried it with chocolate yet mars?

actually your recipe is different to the one I have .. might try it .. but today, Matthew, I'm making malteser brownies
