Hello all,

I wondered if you had heard anything about the Mighty Meals range for 12months up to help with the weaning process?

My son is 14 months and I've heard that mighty meals are a bit chunkier and a better transition to 'proper food'...I can't usually tell the difference between any of these baby brands...

What are your opinions?

DD wouldn't touch them. Try AKs ready meals. They're more like real food - lasagne, cottage pie, etc.

oh really? AK is that Angela Kemmels? I got the impression that mighty meals were like real food as well, they had a few variations. thanks, maybe ill try him on AK then too!

Just give him the same food as you. No need for special food for one year olds.

AK is Annabel Karmel - half the time they are on offer so you get 2 meals for £4 in Sainsbury's. They're in with the chilled ready meals. There's little dish as well, they're a bit more expensive - £2.40 each and they don't seem to put them on special offer very often and I think the portions are slightly smaller.

If your son is only 14 months you can probably get 2 meals out of one container.

The mighty meals seem fine to me when I've tasted them. They do have that "long shelf life" flavour that these long shelf life foods all seem to have, but the long shelf life is the reason I buy them, so I'm not caught out on days when I haven't prepared some delicate morsel for dds dinner. She isn't too keen on the falafel one.
