DD is 2.8 and she wont try nothing new and hardly eats
well all she will eat is
Coco Pops
maybe Weetabix
Toast
Nuggets
Fish cake (only rarely)
Cottage pie (Frozen but she's off that as well now
Bread & butter (white)
apple
yorkshire pudding (aunt bessies frozen ones)

She doesnt like to try nothing new i put in fornt of her she will not attempt to eat any kind of meat she doesnt like gravy or sauces

I try and cook and eat healthy for my kids my ds is quite good he likes his meat

BUT dd is not hardly eating she does go to the toilet once every day so something must be going down lol

she would love to eat crisps buscuits cake as muchas she could but i only give it very little now as im trying to cut out the cr*p (without success)

she wants me to feed her all the time and she's 3 in may i try not too feed her too often but if i know she hasnt eaten much i will feed her

And sometimes if i bride her with a little mashed pototo she tries it then spits if out and heaves

I am at my witts end

Any ideas will be most helpful ive run out!!!

Thanks

emanspiks, mine are 5.5 and 2. My ds (the 2 year old) tried again tonight. We had pasta with fish, carrots and cauliflower in cheese sauce. He ate the pasta one by one, then put down his spoon, said "all gone" and asked for his yoghurt. I told him to eat some fish and carrots before he had a yoghurt. He refused so I took him down from the table. He screamed and cried so I again offered him some carrots and fish for a yoghurt, he refused again so he didn't get any pudding.
He does understand actions and consequences and he knows that if he did not eat what I asked him to then he goes without pudding.

It does seem a little harsh, but I've seen my sister and my friends struggle with faddy children, and I'm determined not to go down the same road. If they really don't like something then fair enough, but does like carrots and had not even tried his fish. I don't put up with that. Dd who had been watching, ate up all her tea!

Don't say tip-tops to moondog-she'll have a fit .
I tried her approach with mine and although it's a bit hit and miss it's got rid of my stress, they're eating decent food when they eat and the occasional bit of hunger is not bad for them. I've seen plenty of very hungry kids in Africa so I've no sympathy with my two.

Tip Tops sound worse than they obviously are it seems.....

Emanspiks, tell yourself there are no fussy eaters amongst families who are really going hungry.
It must be a 20C development (children with special needs of certain kinds aside).

hey rhubarb sounds like you got strong will power if i say no to dd 2.8 she goes mental screaming and crying and it lasts for ages i have tried ignoring her i can switch off but dh gets real ratty (lol he can't switch off) i have tried talking sweetly to her to explain down at her level still screaming then i just go about doing the usuall thing with her in tow scraming and crying around my legs that she wants something!!! real patience tester lol

As your dd is older she obviously understands and im soo glad she ate all her tea oh love her

good for you having such willpower and strength

I am going to try with dh to stick to NO is NO and there will be NOTHING else at all
