Anyone sprout their own seeds?

I've been looking at sprounting boxes and jars and nearly bought one on the spur of the moment, and then thought better ask here first
Are they worth it? Does anyone use one?
I'm on an anti yeast diet and I think i'm starting to think sprouted seeds might be a nice thing to have, but don't want to end up with a manky box on the windowsill in the kitchen!

I do.
I just use a large plastic container and tie a muslin over the top with elastic bands and rinse through it.
Ididn't want hideous kitchen paraphernalia in my house either.

It really is that simple.
They have yuo believe you need all sorts of special stuff but you don't.
I like the 'Biosnacky' mixes,but you can sprout anything really-soybeans,chickpeas....allsorts.

You do have to remember to rinse twice a day, don't you, or they go all manky. But they are yummy once sprouted.

Yes, I do mung beans (when I remember) and they are yummy. My SIL bought me one of those tray thingys (set of 3 plastic trays that stack together) and they work perfectly. Moondog´s system sounds fab though.

So would you just use ordinary dried mung beans and chickpeas? Then put them in the jar and rinse them every day?

I love sprouted chickpeas but had never thought to make my own.

god this sounds great....but could you explain a bit more.

You put dried chickpeas or whatever in a container add water and they sprout?

Do you then eat the whole thing?

How long does it take?

Link anyone?

Just rinse them once or twice a day,then eat them when the sprouts are a couple of cm long. All there is to it.

Mung beans
Quinoa
Mustard Alfalfa cress
any bean or seed pretty much
Health food shops now do great seed mixes, which are good until you figure out what you like.
