Just as the title says, I'm desperate for meal ideas please!

DH & I like most things, neither of us are picky eaters, but we're stuck in a food rut. Most weeks we end up having a pasta meal, some sort of curry, a quick freezer dinner, something with mince (chilli or spag bol) and something with chicken - Levi Roots spicy sauce or similar. I also do seafood pie, cottage pie, roast chicken, pasta bakes to try & vary thing.

DD eats most things that we do, I just give her an alternative if we're having something a bit too spicy for her.

DS is still on batch cooked meals but must be so bored of them by now!

As he's about to turn 1, and I'll be back at work soon, I need meal ideas that we can all enjoy that won't take hours to make.

Please help me out of my food rut Mumsnetters!

Chicken legs cooked in the oven with a glass of white wine, one of chicken stock, some garlic and fresh rosemary (or dried if you don't have fresh.) Skin goes all bubbly and the liquid turns lovely and sticky. Goes well with steamed veg and rice or mash.

Chinese chicken. Chicken thighs marinaded in grated ginger, honey, soy sauce with a teaspoonful of garlic puree and a pinch (no more) of chinese five spice.
Cook in oven till golden and sticky. Serve with egg noodles or rice.

Paella? We do ours with chicken or bacon, sweetcorn, peas, red onions and mixed peppers, with a salad.

Chicken breast, lamb or humous wraps with crudites? If you use left over roast chicken, that's a dinner ready in seconds. All you have to do is chop up the peppers, cucumber and spring onions, shred lettuce and grate the carrots. Kids love making their own wraps.

Home made pizza with choice of toppings. Takes a while for the dough to rise though, so better for weekends.

Spicy sausages and couscous? the littler ones could have a couple of chipolatas or plain sausages and the older ones have spicier ones. With salad or steam some veg into the couscous.

Home made burgers or patties. Any meat, minced, mixed with beaten egg, herbs or spices. you can hide pureed veg in burgers too. Mine even eat hoards of spinach without realising when we have burgers. Stick them between some crusty rolls with salad, and again, it's a quick meal.

Baked spuds with a choice of left over chilli, grated cheese, baked beans, home made coleslaw, served with salad.

All of these are very easy bog-standard family meals in our house. I'm not a very inspired cook, but these are always popular.

So's home made chicken or steak pie made with puff pastry (read to roll)

I know it sounds a bit sad, but it does help. Make a list/spreadsheet of all the meals you can make and each time you try something new, from MNet, a friend, a magazine or off the telly, and you like it, add it to your list. I split mine into main ingredient i.e. beef, lamb, fish, pork, veggie etc. And when I feel uninspired I can look at all of them and find something we've not had for a while. It also means that we have a good variety across each week.
