Any ideas for lunch for christening party at home (25-30 people)?

Obviously need to prepare in advance, one idea I had was a couple of massive lasagnas with salad and garlic bread, as long as I could get hold of a couple of big containers. Any other thoughts would be very appreciated! Suppose we could do a cold buffet but thought hot would be nice since it will be February.

I did lasagne and cheesecakes for the adults one year (around 20).

Hmmmm a couple of slow cookers full of chilli?

Chicken curry with a big pile of naans and pupadoms maybe skip the rice for ease?

Chicken fajitas? With big plates of nachos covered in guacamole, salsa and cheese?

I've just passed off Lidl lasagne as my own to 20 people. They wolfed it down!

Get it out of fridge, cut and (literally) paste it into your dishes and sprinkle more cheese over the top. Best work with square or oblong dishes.

Sainsburys do sandwich platters if you want something lighter.

We did these along with chilli and pizza for our christening party.

Seemed to go down very well.

Dessert was a christening cake.

Thanks everyone - yes should have said I'm keen to avoid rice because it seems to get everywhere! And something that can be eaten with just a fork and will be good for the kids too is also a must. Lots of ideas thanks! Also thought I would do a christening cake and just have that for pud?

My mum made me a basic cake with royal icing and I got a professional to make me a topper (round plaque thingmy jig with pink bunting and writing on) was lovely looked expensive but really only £15 Smile
