I think I need to try and drop my daughter's milk consumption... All she wants for breakfast is milk, often up to half a pint (either cup or bottle.. Doesn't matter what it is in!) more mid afternoon before her nap and then at least 8oz at bedtime. If she wakes in the night the only thing that will settle her is warm milk..
She is going to be big because dh is 6'5" and probably quite broad as my family are always described as 'pit ponies' but some 2/3 clothes don't fit already (she is only 2 and 3weeks) and I am paranoid about her weight. We have semi skimmed milk after a conversation with the hv, the rest of her diet is pretty good, pasta, fruit, green veg, chicken, cheese, yoghurt, she eats well, drinks lots of water (10+ oz day plus juice) and is above average height, just the 98th centile weight thing makes me worried.
So... Be pleased that she is set up for a low risk of osteoporosis in later life? ignore the hv who has issues with any child that is not average? Continue to Insist on smaller amounts of milk, offer water and face down the tantrums?
Over to you all...
