keep putting new things on his plate. Try the same new thing every day for about a week. Grit your teeth and try not to feel bad about throwing it away.
Can't promise he will eat it or even try it but it's a step ni the right direction!

are you talking about my son???

no idea, no idea at all. Will watch this thread with interest.

Although he will eat out of his dad's bowl when he comes home from work and only if I'm not in the room. The little freak.

The way that's usually recommended is to give him what you want him to eat - and if he leaves it then take it away without comment, and don't give him anything else. If your ds is really as bad as you say, though, you might need to do it as you would a baby - introduce one new food at a time. Resist the temptation to give him biscuits and crisps if he won't eat it though - that will just encourage him to refuse the decent food to get the biscuits and crisps.

Try getting a plateful of something yourself like say carrots and houmous dip and sitting down with the plate on your knee and just start dipping and nibbling. See if he'll come over and see what your eating. I found it worked a treat when eating mummys food. Especially if about 1/2 hour before a meal so you know he's hungry.

OK I know this is not very healthy ... at all but hear me out

For dinner today I par-boiled potatoes cut in to chip shapes, then coated them with egg and dry polenta and flour and seasoning and deep fried them. DS2 scoffed the lot, including the ketchup ( isn't there something in tomatoes that is good for the prostate?) and demanded more.

Now I'm thinking I could slip a deep fried sweet potato in there, maybe a parsnip and then vegtable tempura, fritto misto! I reckon if I serve it only three times a week, and eventually include fish and vegetables then we're laughing.

Or is deep-frying for small children very very wrong?
