Flour for bread

Have a fancy to make a loaf of bread from the Dan Lepard book I got for Christmas but don't have any strong white flour, does anyone know if '00' flour will work?

Many thanks

You can use 00 flour if it's marked suitable for bread making. Pannifiable or something similar. Anyway the word panna will feature big.

You really need a strong flour which you can buy at most supermarkets.

Aldi and Lidl do a good one vv cheaply.

OO is usually used for Pasta, being very finely ground.

It's got less protein than bread flour so won't get as elastic.

Make some pasta!

I misread it as the Def Leopard cookbook. My mind did boggle...

Well I made it with '00' flour and it wasn't too bad - the sour cream sandwich loaf if you're interested - but not as light as it looked in the book. I now have proper bread flour so will try again.

How much yeast did you use? Did it taste nice?
