I have a tiramsu-y style pudding that has raw egg in the recipe. Any idea whether it would be safe for my 5yo and 3yo to eat it?

The eggs will be organic if that makes any difference, not sure whether they're more of a risk than normal ones.

Not sure what age I should stop worrying Confused.

I think it's fine. There is a risk of salmonella, I guess, but it's really small. I also would think most of the hens in the UK are vaccinated for salmonella.
FWIW I let my DC lick the bowl after I make a cake.

I don't know if it's ever "safe" for anyone to eat raw eggs, is it?

I think eggs with a lion mark have been vaccinated against salmonella though.

I wouldn't worry either. All mine have fought over been licking the bowl since they could stand up and 'help'.

my dd has been licking the cake spoon since she could hold it properly, so probably 9mo(ish)

i sometimes even use eggs from the local chook farm that have no lion markShock

mrsmagnolia I don't let them lick the cake bowl at home. But that's purely because I'm a piggy Blush.

They have eaten goodness knows what from the garden so from now on I think I'll assume raw egg is fine.
