Lasagne question - do I need to pre-cook?

Am following a recipe for the first time in ages, and it says to pre-cook the lasagne sheets - I haven't done this in years and years, they have always said "no need to cook"
Is there any reason why I should pre-cook it?
If relevant - it is lasagne verde, a mushroom lasagne (with the normal bechamel sauce), and needs to be in the oven for 50 minutes, which is about how long I would normally cook it for.....

I'm thinking I can just bung it straight in?

Thanks :)

I never do, but what does it say on the packet of lasagne sheets?

No, I never do. Just make sure your sauces are slightly runnier rather than thicker (but no need to go crazy).

No. Make sure it is covered in sauce or it will be crispy! Yum, I love lasagne. May make some tonight.

No need to cook it

I never pre cook them and I sort of prefer the pasta sheets to still have a very slight 'bite' to them. My favourite bits are the crunchy slightly burnt corners! Grin

Thanks :)
The lasagne packet says no need to cook, and I kind of assumed all lasagne was like this now? So was a little surprised by the recipe.

Agree, slight bite to the lasagne is essential, can't stand soggy pasta! :)
