searching for a one litre pie dish

Sorry for the deeply mundane question, but I am gearing up to make my first ever pie.

The recipe calls for a one litre pie dish and I am really struggling to find one. I did find a 1.1l Pyrex one, but it was pretty ugly and I'd like le creuset something that would look nice on the table. Any recommendations? How crucial is the volume? would the 1.6l le creuset do?

I bought this one not that long ago and it's currently in the fridge, stuffed with steak and kidney, ready to go into the oven later for supper. Hold a lot of filling and there's enough of a lip round the edge so your pastry doesn't fall into the middle. Strongly recommend using a pie-funnel with it for the same reason.

I saw that one, and like it, but isn't it a lot bigger than a litre?

I've no idea on volume, but I cooked up roughly 2.5lbs of steak and kidney plus gravy and onions etc. yesterday, and that filled it nicely.

OK... I've worked it out. A 26cm dish, 5cm deep, adjusting for the lip, sloping sides and thickness of china etc calculates to roughly +/- 2.0L capacity So you need a dish about 20cm across and 3 or 4cm deep. this one for example, calculates to 1.5l capacity but you don't have to fill it right to the top.

If it was me... I'd just go for the bigger pie and double up all the quantities!!

Thanks cogito! Doubling up sounds like a great plan...

What kind of pie is it?

Cheese and onion. I'm one of those weird veggie types. Have also found a nice smaller pie dish, so all is good :-)
