Red cabbage
Sprouts with Chestnuts and Lardons/pancetta
parsnips ala delia with parmesan
carrots
roast pots
(all of which incidentally can be down and prepped earlier!)
Don't forget Bread Sauce and Cranberry!

I always stick to carrots, sprouts and peas (petits pois Xmas Grin) - I always think that as everything else is so rich and fattening filling it is quite nice to have some plain veg - or am I just lazy?

In the USA one year we had salad with our turkey which wasn't quite right Xmas Confused.

Green beans
Sprouts
Roast parsnips and potatoes
Cranberry sauce

Parsnips with maple syrup.
Roast potatoes.
Steamed carrots and peas.

I really really hate sprouts.

Mashed carrot and swede
Steamed green beans, leeks and green cabbage

We're also having a chestnut and apricot stuffing.

I've often wondered this - do the people who put maple syrup or some glaze or parmesan on their parsnips do it whenever they roast? For me a roast parsnip is one of the nicest veg there is, and the glaze just ruins it. I much prefer simple food.

We'll be having whatever suitable for roast veg are in the house (ie whatever wasn't expensive in the supermarket this week), same as any other roast, swede, parsnip, cabbage, sprouts, broccoli are all likely. Yorkshire puddings, no bread sauce, or cranberry - which meat is still up in the air.

Forgot we will be having sweet potatoes too, mashed with S&P and a bit of brown sugar.

Potatoes, parsnips, jerusalem artichokes, peas, carrots and red cabbage.

I won't be having turkey, as I'm veggie but I love to have lots of vegetables rather than anything to replace the meat so we have:

dauphinoisse potatoes,
roasted vege including new potatoes, shallots, parsnips, carrots, maybe butternut squash if I can be bothered,
sprouts,
savoy cabbage (which I insist on because I love it so much!),
either carrots (I like them roasted and normal!) or tenderstem brocolli (which I don't like much but everyone else does).
Onion and port gravy.
And I can't stand cranberry sauce, so we will have mint sauce!
