I have just bought my first ever big block from the Chinese supermarket and it only last two days. Could I freeze it?

Any one have any good recipes for it? I am a little intimidated by it's white. blocky goodness....

i used to freeze it,
i like to marinade it and cook it well, so it is not so soft, in a stirfry. i know it says dont cook it for long but i prefer the texture harder

Yes, it's a really good idea. It gives you a different texture - dryer, as the water separates a bit and you can squeeze it out on defrosting. That can make it less likely to disintegrate on cooking.

Yes, you can freeze it. It is a bit firmer after freezing but still fine.

I like using tofu in stirfries, just substitute it for whatever meat is used in the original recipe. Or this is yummy:

For a quick stir fry, get as much moisture as possible out, (I wrap it in the current teatowel and weight it for a few minutes or longer if possible) Put tea towel in wash Grin. Heat a little toasted sesame oil, garlic, ginger, chilli in pan and turn until toasted. Add other veg as desired (I like some greens) and finish with soy sauce on a high heat. Very quick, tasty and adaptable.

Thanks all. I will definitely try that recipe Driftwood.

It will last a wee bit longer if you replace the water every day.
