What the hell is a 'Chedd' and what makes them in any way superior to a regular piece of cheese?

It is a semi rhetorical question. Do people actually buy this crap?

What are they exactly - individually wrapped bits of Cheddar with packaging marketed at children?

I bet it's not the sort that makes your gums itch though

Yup just bits of cheese wrapped up.

Exciting stuff.

It would be interesting to work out profit margin.

Ah, I see some bright spark on a blog has worked it out.
Jesus, are people really this stupid as to part with their cash so easily?

'for the sake of a couple of minutes work you could save yourself a fortune by buying a block of Cathedral City and chopping up 18grams of it yourself.

Each of the 6 bags in the packet contains 18grams of Cathedral City?s finest cheese. At the moment a 6 bag pack costs £1.50 which equates to approx. £13.89 per kilo, now thats a horrible thought isn?t it! When they are no longer at their introductory price, they will be around the £1.99 area bumping that per kilo price up to a whopping £18.42.

For that price you could buy nearly 3 blocks of family pack Cathedral City which would keep you in home chopped chedds for a lot longer than 10 6packs of Chedds!'

I like the ones with miniature melba toast squares in. very cute.

but yes, they are a rip off. I only buy them when caught out starving hungry and want a quick snack.
