It's only £20...is there a reason for that?

Is it a frozen one?

I had one about 5 years ago and it was yummy!

valiumredhead · 01/12/2011 15:59

I tried a stuffed turkey last year - thank god I had a trial run before Xmas because it was SO salty we were all up in the night downing water! Was very tasty though, but we're not used that amount of saltiness.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/12/2011 16:18

I see, it's not stuffed but is frozen.

Sod it I'm going to get one. How often do you get to have goose?

I'm going to get one too.
I looked at fresh ones last year but they were so expensive.
We had rabbit instead.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/12/2011 17:02

See the cat brings in rabbits but only small ones. Perhaps with training a goose is possible?

Bet it takes 24 hrs to defrost it though.

My cats bring in bunny rabbits and bats.

That would make an interesting Christmas smorgasbord.

That is very cheap for a goose. I am very tempted.

Fluffy you're right about the 24 hours.

My dad bought me one and kept it in their big freezer so I picked it up on the 23rd 24th and then kept it in the fridge until

CountingDown321 · 01/12/2011 20:16

Oooops - but you get the idea! Kept it in fridge until Christmas Day and it was ready to go in the oven.

Can't remember if it was in fridge for 1 day or 2 days but I'm sure it says on the pack what to do.

Was living in a studio with tiny fridge at the time, needs must Grin

Yeah, he was rubbish. More lube next time.

Grandhighpoohba · 01/12/2011 20:29

So, how many people can you feed from an Aldi goose?

Solo · 01/12/2011 20:34

I got one for my brother yesterday to cook and eat tonight with his family on his birthday. Looked good.

We had 2 last year and there was 22 of us. There is a lot less meat than from a turkey though, the cavity is larger, they are leaner and have little stumpy legs so you can't roll and bone them like we do with a turkey.

I really liked it but not everyone agreed with me.
