Can you make pastry in a stand mixer (Kenwood kmix)

That's it really! I usually do mine in a food processor but I'm hoping my kmix will do the job instead as my food processor is on the way out. Thanks.

Yes. I would mix in the liquid on the fold function though, so as not to overhandle the dough.

I have a fold function Shock ?! Which blade would I use? The dough one, or the one with a 'k' in it. You may be able to tell I'm a few steps off artisan baker as yet.

My mum makes the best pastry ever! 40 yr old Kenwood works brill. Make sure you get the ratio right and it's a doddle. (4/1/1)

Use your K Hook to make dough and do it on about a slow-medium speed. Take it out as soon as its all gone into a ball and you'll be fine.

I love my Kenwood for making pastry and bread.

If you turn the control knob 'backwards', it mixes for a short burst, then stops, then does another short burst, and stops, etc, until you turn it off. It's handy for folding things, so you don't knock the air out of the batter, or for pastry if you don't want to overhandle it and make it tough.
